28th Annual Ethnic Trees Exhibit

The South Bethlehem Historical Society is pleased to announce that its Annual Ethnic Christmas Tree exhibit will now be on display in the Visitor Center at SteelStacks.  The ceremonial lighting of the trees will take place on Sunday, November 24, at 2 PM.  There are 16 different ethnic trees on display.

The Visitors Center’s is located at 711 East First Street.  Regular Hours are Sunday to Wednesday, 10 AM to 4 PM  and Thursday to Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM.  During Christkindlmarkt, there are extended hours:  Thursday 10 AM to 6 PM;  Friday and Saturday 10 AM to 8 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 6 PM.  The Center is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.

This year marks the 28th anniversary of this holiday tradition.  German immigrants brought the Christmas tree to American in the 1800s.  Today, American holiday celebrations include many traditions, especially those brought by ethnic groups to South Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
